Alexis Lee ch. 22

Google has had plenty of issues when it comes to their new attempts to filter search results, so that we don't see fake news or content that we don't want to see. This has caused a rise of controversy.

Alexis Lee ch 18

Sponsoring is an effective way to get the name of a small business to grow. Reputation is important because if there is no rep[. no one knows you. For big companies you will see that they are sponsored in things such as movies and television shows, and for small companies you may see them being mentioned and used by people who are well-known on the internet. Depending on what the person says about the product could lead to a good or bad reputation.

Alexis Lee ch 15

Chapter 15 talks about branding through websites. This is just creating a website for your company to connect with the consumer. The website must attract the consumer with its color, character, emotion, consistency, and the overall layout. A well organised and easy to use website will satisfy the consumer consciously and subconsciously.

The magazine industry sales are declining as we all know, probably because of the continuous evolution of technology and the fact that a lot of people don't like to read anymore. Magazine sales dropped by 20-something million. Even though they have dropped so much they still sell, probably because of the creative advertisements and the die-hard, old school supporters. That is why they target their specific target markets, and that is why magazines are even still around. Sales have dropped a lot, but not enough to cause magazines to be considered completely "out of style."

Time periods for TV goes according to the audience that is targeted. They are divided into timeparts. For example, daytime programs draw the smallest audience, since most people are at school or work, and Prime Time draws the largest audience, since everyone is back home. Sunday is also the most popular time for night for television. As you can imagine, this is very important to advertisers.

Alexis Lee Ch 9

Dramatization is used to engage the viewers and make them feel some sort of way about the product/movie. To induce emotions. It's so the viewer gets lost in the story and feels for the characters. Dramatization uses more excitement and suspense.

Divergence is a key element to a creative ad. Without it, it wouldn't be creative. Divergence ties into originality, which is an ad that contains rare elements, and flexibility, which is an ad that could be perceived in many ways.

skittles commercial
Chapter 6 talks about Wearout, which is basically when a commercial loses it's effectiveness after seeing it so many times. People wind up not paying attention to it and eventually become annoyed. I believe that this could cause the consumer to not even want to buy the product; simply because they are annoyed by the company. According to the book experts say that the ads that are considered to be humorous wear out faster, just like any joke you hear over and over again. Though they are worn out, they are still effective in good ways and bad ways.

In chapter 5 it talks about an innovation adoption model which explains the trial and error when it comes to introducing a new product to consumers and the steps that must be taken for the 'adoption' or rejection of the product which are awareness, interest,  evaluation, and trial.

Effective direct Marketing_Ch 3

Direct marketing has to do with those pesky ads you get in the mail that come from local businesses and grocery stores as well as from that account you made for your favorite store to shop at. Sometimes these ads are helpful, giving you coupons or notifying you of a sale you might care about. This is all thanks to those direct marketing agencies such as Wunderman and Aspen Marketing Services. Companies still believe that advertising through the mail and on social media is pretty effective, especially when they are being very creative. Usually the businesses advertising through social media are for clothing, video games, etc. I believe the creative department the main reason why it works so well. Direct marketing is not just mail and social media but also infomercials, and telemarketing.
