Transformational Advertising:

“We are living in a transformational time in our industry,” she said. “Keeping the attention of today’s consumers is one of the hardest things for anyone in the branding industry. There’s so much choice.”

http://www.standard.net/Business/2017/02/28/Tommy-Hilfiger-looks-to-technology-as-it-combats-Macy-s-decline.html

This article is about Tommy Hilfiger transforming Macy's advertising by bringing them a sense of advertisement that is not usually affiliated with them originally: social media, and using Top models with over 30 million followers on Instagram to promote their brand.

Quote from article:

"To adapt, Tommy Hilfiger brand chief Avery Baker is making it easier for shoppers to order clothes directly. She introduced the newest collection at a fashion show this month next to a Southern California beach -- rather than a typical New York venue -- and invited 2,000 regular shoppers to watch it. People could instantly buy outfits from an app featuring 3-D images of the runway. Within 24 hours, more than 15 styles were sold out online."

In chapter 6, it mentions having celebrities be sponsors/spokespersons for brands. Below are two commercials: one from beats by Dre and the other DJ Khaled with Naomi Campbell advertising Apple Music. The beats by Dre commercial has several music artists, and other celebrities wearing his headphones doing everyday stuff with the cordless headphones. With Apple Music, DJ Khaled has been their spokesperson for a few of their commercials/ads now.

In Chapter 5, it primarily talks about marketing strategies, and which strategies are the best to use in today's social networking world. I decided to talk about the AIDA Model -- cognitive stage strategy. This model is developed to represent stages a salesperson must take through personal-selling processes.

http://marketing.ie/articles/should-creative-or-media-lead/

This article talks about what way an advertiser's company should take when advertising their brand. They suggest either advertising something in the media-way or in a creative way. The media-way is advertising something how they've always had and staying to the brand, and the creative way is advertising that could potentially transform the brand that could either change the brand for the worse, or make the brand successful for years to come. This means taking risks. Ironically, this is what good entrepreneurs do all the time.

What's so special about Ads?

In Chapter 3, the chapter is primarily about ads, its strategies, the different type of media outlets, the agencies and etc. I decided to talk about, "What's so special about Ads," anyways. Why are they important and critical in marketing.

This article states why ads are so important, especially during the Super Bowl. It says that though you can engage an audience by a TV ad, it is much better and more creative to advertise on social media, which that to me is a given.

A quote:
"For brands investing in game-time television ads, calling users to interact on social media networks like Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram can be a strong way to enhance brand awareness and top-of-mind recall."

The article also states that a search engine for ads during the game is vital to replay ads and to find other information regarding the game.

However, the article says that they are still questions when regarding ad making for the Super Bowl and what makes the viewer that much engaged.

A quote:

"These are questions advertisers are still struggling to answer, but two facts are clear:
1) The cost of online visibility across these digital channels pales in comparison to the cost of the Super Bowl television spots they can help support.
2) These channels can be credited with driving impressions, website visits, video views, social interactions, and other user engagements that stand to positively impact brands down the line."

Social Media Marketing

In Chapter 1, it primarily talks about internet marketing (social media, how to promote publicly, how to sell, public relations, etc.). I decided to touch on social media marketing, but that has been a way of marketing for a lot of people in the last couple of years. In terms of marketing, I feel as though most brands and businesses will turn to this aspect, instead of marketing on T.V. -- people are always on their phone no matter the occasion.

http://www.mediapost.com/publications/article/293123/social-media-seen-as-best-to-boost-brand-awareness.html

The article I posted is about the percentages of brands and businesses that use social media marketing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. It also states that social media is the best way to boost brand awareness. The article also says that people who post videos to keep their audiences engaged, might have to look at another way to engage their audience, because so many videos are being posted everyday.
