Chapter 12 was about magazines. I  think that the world of magazines is an interesting topic because some would argue that print is dead, but others would argue that it is fully alive and thriving since it is such an overly saturated market. Its an interesting debate but I firmly believe that the magazine industry isn't going anywhere anytime soon. This is an article from Ad Age and it is their list for Magazines of the year for 2016.

"Daughter" Audi Super Bowl Ad

Audi Super Bowl AD

This Audi ad is about a Dad and his daughter. It has major feminist undertones and I love that it wasn't just a normal ad but they chose to air it for the Super Bowl, which is a male dominated event.

This is a link to the Consumer Behavior of the New York Times. This is a very useful resource for staying up to date for news in regards to consumer behavior. A lot of the focus currently with consumer behavior is the election and the election outcome. One of the top articles is about how marketers are rethinking how to study consumers after the surprise of the election.

Recently I have been really into "Mad Men", and it has a very clear representation of the Advertising industry throughout the 60's. So I thought it would be prime time to post about the impact of  advertising since chapter 1 mentions the classifications of Advertising. This link is about what you can learn about advertising through "Mad Men." The first point and probably one of the most important points in this article is, "Know your market. Know your audience." This is relevant in nearly every aspect of marketing in basically industry. http://www.advertise.com/2013/11/25/what-mad-men-can-teach-us-about-advertising-today/
